Memoirs
Life was great as a kid, enjoying all the privileges at home was fun.It was the best of the time spent.I remember watching T.V. with papa for long hours.News or business channels are his favourite. We used to watch news from all the channels then compare & analyze. At times the discussion use to go for hours together. With him I have discussed variety of issues and aspects of life.
He is a very refined,hard-working and open person, equally devoted to family & work.He loves culture & art in the same way as he loves Science. He says science is to understand way world is & why it is that way.The key ingredient is to have the courage to face the inconsistencies between what we see & deduce & the way things are done. The challenging of basic assumptions is essential to breakthroughs and discoveries & accepting change & dynamism is way of life.He asked us "why do you think hinduism has survived for so long?", just because it is flexible & adopts & mingles good things from all the religions of the world.By this he taught us to be flexible & open to new ideas & thoughts. He said you should always follow two things in life-"Dedication for work" & "Flexibility to adopt new thoughts & ideas".I remember when we brought our pc home he was the first one to learn how to operate & use for maintaing his documents. He is the only one in his friend circle who is computer-savvy & prepares his official documents on his own & takes them to office.A civil engineer by profession, he can talk equally well on economics, share market, politics, culture, hinduism.I admire him as a keen learner & reader,as whatever skills he has are due to reading & discussing with people.People get magnetised by his thought process when he speaks & discusses.Whenever i turn back to him for any advice, he says i can only suggest but ultimately the decision is yours as its your life.He never stopped us to watch t.V in exams also. The funniest incidence was when he had asked cable operator to come for connection & when the fellow came papa was not there. We asked the operator to leave as our exams were going on & said we don't want cable t.v. & the guy went away.Later when papa came he said nothing disturbs until you allow it to interfere in your life. Finally we got cable connection, it was opposite to all my friends whose parents didn't allow them to watch even DD in exams.I remember while i was in engg. we together watched cricket match till late night & i went to give my end-sem exam next morning.
He understands my viewpoint & many a times we have hot discussions also. The arguments always end with a new learning experience.
These days i talk to dad usually on phone & miss those days.He is a person who is fun to be with & impresses everyone he meets.
